On July 25th, Shockbyte launched our very own game server control panel. The New Shockbyte Control Panel is incredibly innovative, using modern technologies and designed to be the best in the industry.

We have received extremely positive feedback so far, and a lot of demand from customers to switch to the new control panel as soon as possible.

Despite demand from our customers to switch as soon as possible, we originally had a slower release & migration scheduled to ensure stability of the platform.

Due to some recent changes in the industry, we have made the decision to expedite our migration plans. Although this may be great news to many, we are writing this post to explain why we made this decision and clearly communicate the implications of this decision.

Why are we expediting migrations?

Multicraft, one of the most popular control panels for game server hosting, was recently acquired by another company in the industry. The new owners have increased our prices by over 1500%. Unfortunately, this wild price increase makes it unsustainable to operate our services under the Multicraft control panel.

Fortunately, we spent the last few years working on our own custom control panel and are ready to begin migrating customers to it.

There are also other game server hosts facing the same difficulties due to this situation who are in a less fortunate position than us. For any other hosts affected by this, we encourage you to reach out to us and we’re happy to assist in any way we can.

Bug Fixes & Stability

Each day we are receiving new bug reports from customers. Our team is actively working through these to ensure bugs are fixed as quickly as possible.

We expect more minor and major bugs in the coming weeks and it is currently our top priority to investigate and resolve them.

If you do experience any issues with the control panel, please contact our support team. The next few weeks may be rough, but we have the best team working on these issues and we are making very fast progress.

What This Means for You

  • New Control Panel: Our new custom control panel will replace the legacy one for all new server purchases, as well as existing ones.
  • Migration Plan: Existing servers will be migrated to the new control panel. We are committed to making this transition as seamless as possible, with minimal downtime and disruption.
