At Shockbyte, we’re committed to giving you the best hosting experience. Recently, some customers have faced issues with their servers, and we want to update you on the steps we’ve taken to resolve this.

What Happened?

A few weeks ago, we had to switch to a new control panel earlier than expected. This was due to a sudden and significant price increase from Multicraft (over 1500%), our old control panel. Fortunately, we were prepared with a new panel, but the speed and scale of the migration uncovered a few unexpected issues.

The main problems some customers experienced were:

  • Losing server connections
  • Delays in resyncing
  • Trouble switching instances
  • Issues changing server types

We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been affected by these issues. We’ve been listening to your feedback and working hard to fix the problem.

What Caused This?

During the migration, we discovered that our file storage system couldn’t handle the large number of servers we host. This issue didn’t appear in our internal testing but surfaced as we scaled up. As soon as we identified the problem in mid-August, we switched to a more reliable system. This has significantly improved server stability and performance.

Current Status

Right now, less than 1% of our customers are still experiencing issues. We are working as quickly as possible to move these affected servers to the new, stable system. No new servers are set up on the old system, so new customers have not faced these problems.

We have also developed a tool to help speed up this migration process. The tool is now finalized, and we have started to migrate customers to the new system.
