Latest update: 11th September 5:33am UTC.

On July 25th, we launched our very own game server control panel. The New Shockbyte Control Panel is incredibly innovative, using modern technologies and designed to be the best in the industry.

However, due to some recent changes in the industry, we had to migrate servers to our new panel sooner and faster than we anticipated. This means that some minor and major bugs can be expected.

You can read more about the migration and industry changes here: Migrations To The New Shockbyte Control Panel.

In this article, you can find a list of known issues along with some common fixes:

How Do I Know If My Server Has Been Migrated?

When your server is migrated to the new panel, you will receive an email with the subject "Confirmation of Your Server Migration to the New Shockbyte Control Panel", that looks like this:

If you haven't received this specific email, it's most likely your server is still using Multicraft and hasn't been migrated yet.

Sometimes, servers are transferred to a different node for maintenance purposes. In this case, you will also receive an email to let you know, and your IP will also change, but it is not related to the new control panel.

If you got an email that looks like the one below, then that is just a node transfer, and not a migration to the new control panel.

[FIXED] Login Issues

After your server is migrated, you will receive an email with new login details with the subject “Your Temporary Shockbyte Panel Password”. If you can’t find it, make sure to check your spam folder. If you think you haven’t received it or don't remember your password, you can reset it here: Reset My Password.

If you're experiencing any other issues, please chck out our blog post Shockbyte Control Panel Migrations - How To Login.

Please note: If you purchased your server before July 25th, you'll only gain access to the new Shockbyte Control Panel once your server is migrated.

[PARTIAL FIX] Server Stuck Initializing

This may happen after you make some setting changes, such as switching to a new instance or switching modpacks. Our team is aware of this issue, has identified a fix and is actively working on implemeting it. If the issue persists after 20-30 minutes, please contact our support team.

Edit: We recently discovered that our current file storage system was causing these issues. We've now switched to a new, more reliable system, and we're working on moving all of our customers over to it as quickly as possible. New servers bought after September 1st in EU and NA will no longer be affected by this issue.

[PARTIAL FIX] Connectivity Issues

Unfortunately, there can be times when using the instances feature or the modpack installer feature on our new control panel can lead to connectivity issues. However, our team is actively working on fixing this. In the meantime, restarting your server might fix the problem. If the issue persists after 30 minutes, please contact customer support.

If you experience issues trying to install mods or modpacks into your server, we recommend using the file manager instead of the built-in modpack installer for now.

[PARTIAL FIX] Backups Stuck Loading

We understand that backups are crucial for keeping your progress safe, so our team is working on getting this issue fixed as soon as possible. If your backup is still loading after 20-30 minutes, restart your server or reach out to our support team.

[PARTIAL FIX] Instances Stuck Loading

We're very excited about our new instances feature. However, we're aware that some users may be experiencing issues with it, either when creating a new instance or when switching between them. If your instance is still loading after 20-30 minutes, reach out to our support team.

Our team is already aware of this issue and has identified a fix for it. We're expecting it to be impleneted in the next few days.

[FIXED] Server Sharing

We were aware that some users were having trouble when inviting others to their server as a co-owner, moderator, member or any custom role. This was fixed today (12th August 2024), so you should now be able to use this feature without any issues!

(August 16th Update) Invited users who don't have a Shockbyte account, will now be prompted to create one.

[FIXED] Loss Of Files

After migrations, some customers noticed some of their files were missing. If you were affected by this, you can contact customer support and they will be able to restore it for you.

A fix has already been put in place for this (9th August 2024), so new migrations will happen smoothly and without missing any files.

[FIXED] Error: could not open 'libraries/net/minecraftforge/…/unix_args.txt'

Sometimes, Minecraft servers using Forge may get an error message on the console that reads "Error: could not open 'libraries/net/minecraftforge/…/unix_args.txt'"

If you're experiencing this issue, you can fix it by navigating to you files and deleting the folder named "minecraftforge" (libraries > net > minecraftforge).

[FIXED] product_config_not_found

You may see this error message when opening instances or backups. This is an internal issue we're currently fixing and will be done this week!

Your server should still be working properly, despite the error message.

[FIXED] 0/0 Players

Some servers might display 0 player slots. While the number displayed there doesn't affect how many slots you actually have, you can simply edit this by clicking on the pencil icon on the left side of the text.
